Parks and Recreation Annual Report

  The 2008 year for the Parks and Recreation I feel was a very successful year with many new upgrades and activities.

 

   The follow are some of the upgrades made to the Park:

            Purchased a new tractor with a bucket and forks

            Purchased a new power washer and a assortment of new  

            tools

            North Shelter received a new green roof and the South  

            Shelter had some repair work done to the roof  

            Bathrooms were painted a new color

            Memorial Garden was planted

            Landscaping was done around the South Shelter

            Serving tables were made to be use in both Shelters

            2 horseshoes pits were put in

            Playground equipment repainted

            8 dying trees and stumps were removed

            Munch from the removed trees was used around all the

            trees in the  park

            New water lines installed going to Maintenance Building

            and out by the Memorial Garden

            Lime stone was laid in the South Parking lot and overflow

           driveway

           

The following are some of the Activities held at the Park:

            Spring Girls softball tournament

            Opening Day activities for the Little League

            Held 3 Music in the Park with about 70 people in

            attendances per event

            Held District and Regional Little League tournaments

            Held Little League State Championship

            Held a Rocket class and launch

            Held a Soccer tournament  

            Hosted Day in the Park with about 1000 people in

            attendances

            Held the employee picnic

            Had a total of 41 shelter rentals

            Attendance for all uses of the park for the year is around

            54679

 

As you can see many new upgrades and activities took places in 2008 and I am looking forward to the 2009 season.
