Department Report
August 8th, 2005
The following is a summary of activity for the Raisin Township Police
Department for the month of July.
Significant Events:
The Raisin Township Police Department participated in two seatbelt
enforcement details, one in Raisin Township, and the other in Cambridge
Township. We also participated in a speed enforcement detail on Ridge Hwy,
working with the Michigan State Police.
Township Officers participated with OMNI in the annual Operation Hemp
detail. This detail is directed at using an MSP helicopter to fly over
cornfields in the county in search of marijuana plants. This year’s detail
yielded about 400 plants.
Meetings:
Chief Lambka and Sgt. Poe attended the Firearms Instructor meeting at
the LCSO on July 6th.
Chief Lambka attended the Chiefs meeting for the Training Consortium
held at Woodstock Police Department on July 9th.
Chief Lambka attended the Lenawee County Law Enforcement Association
meeting at the Lenawee County Courthouse on July 9th.
Sgt. Poe attended the Training Consortium Instructors meeting in
Cambridge Township on July 19th.
Training:
All Officers attended tactical training at the Lenawee County Round
Lake firearms range on July 27th. This training was geared towards
officers working with officers from other departments to tactically clear
buildings and safely engage targets. Chief Lambka and Sgt. Poe were instructors
for this training.
