Police Department Report

May 9th 2005

The following is a summary of activity for the Raisin Township Police Department for the month of April.

Significant Activity:

During the month of April, Chief Lambka worked with detectives from the LCSO on a string of burglaries in the township and surrounding area. As a result of that investigation, a large quantity of stolen property was recovered. Included in the recovered property were several guns, computers, televisions, radios, movies, ammunition, and various personal belongings. We currently have two suspects in the thefts and are seeking warrants.

Meetings:

Chief Lambka attended the following meetings:

April 7th and 21st - Law Enforcement Investigators Meeting

April 14th  - Lenawee County Law Enforcement Association

April 19th  - Lenawee County Chiefs Meeting

April 21st  - Range Officers Meeting

Personnel:

Applications for the open Police Officers position were closed on April 15th. We had received 27 applications for the position. We have sent acceptance letters to 10 of those 27 inviting them to participate in the next phase of our hiring process. We will be conducting Oral interviews on May 16th and 17th (tentatively). I have asked Lt. Mike Creswell from the Lenawee County Sheriffs Office, Sgt. Troy Stern from Tecumseh Police Department, and Director Richard Renard to participate in the Oral Board.

Training:

Chief Lambka attended a training seminar in Lansing for the MCOLES Information and Tracking Network (MITN). This system is used to track training and employment history for police officers in the State of Michigan. This system is also used to apply and administrate the Act 302 funding received by the state for training reimbursement.
